This week, President Donald Trump signed the coronavirus relief package into law, which includes $600 stimulus checks for eligible tax filers. Much like the stimulus payment from earlier this year, the payments are based on 2019 tax return information and will be delivered using the same method. The U.S. Treasury Department has stated that the roll-out for direct deposits has begun, and payments will arrive in accounts this week or next. Paper checks began mailing out on Wednesday, Dec. 30 and are expected to arrive in mailboxes within 1-2 weeks.(more…)
November Bonus Dividend, Loan Interest Rebate Are Benefits of Membership with Local Financial Institution
A decades-long tradition continues: Just in time for the holidays, Scott Credit Union’s active members have once again received the gift of extra money in their accounts.
The credit union’s board of directors approved a bonus dividend and loan interest rebate in November, giving back approximately $700,000 to members. The money was directly deposited recently into Scott Credit Union members’ accounts.(more…)

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it a wave of scams, with no signs of slowing down. These scams are also producing a surge of counterfeit bills into circulation. Using cutting-edge technology, scammers create bills that look just like the real thing to the untrained eye. Unfortunately, once counterfeit bills are passed, their new owner can become liable for passing them on to someone else.
In an effort to combat the reach of counterfeit bills, the Secret Service and the U.S. Treasury have added several identifying features to legitimate dollar bills to help citizens and business owners determine whether they are authentic. Local Non-Profit Provides Services For At-Risk Families
Scott Credit Union has donated $2,500 to help Nurses For Newborns in its mission to provide services to at-risk families to prevent infant mortality, child abuse and neglect with in-home nurses.
Nurses For Newborns provides nursing services to promote healthcare, education, and positive parent skills to St. Louis area families who need it most.
“Scott Credit Union believes in making an impact in our communities,” said SCU President & CEO Frank Padak. “We believe in supporting families in a variety of ways and Nurses For Newborns is a perfect way for us to help in providing services to those in need.”
