We’re uniting with Consumers Credit Union to strengthen our service—for you.

Exciting updates are coming. We’re proud to announce our Intent to Merge with Consumers Credit Union—bringing together two strong, member-first organizations to offer expanded branch access, enhanced digital tools, and more opportunities for those we serve.

Two Partners, One Purpose: Our Members.

The service and commitment you value from Scott Credit Union remains the same. But the proposed merger means our members will have access to expanded branch locations, new products, and more financial experts to help you reach your goals.

By combining our strengths, Scott Credit Union and Consumers Credit Union can invest more directly in what drives us: you.

Member FAQs

Are the two organizations merging?

Consumers Credit Union and Scott Credit Union are intending to merge. While both Boards of Directors have approved the proposed merger, it remains subject to regulatory approval, which can take several months and potentially as long as half a year.

Why are the credit unions proposing a merger?

The proposed merger is designed to create a stronger, future-ready credit union with expanded branch locations, deeper banking and digital capabilities and greater capacity to invest in member service, technology, products, employees and community impact.

Do members need to take any action right now?

No. Members do not need to take any action at this time. Your accounts and services continue as they do today, and we will provide advance notice before any future changes require action.

Are my accounts and deposits safe?

Yes. Your accounts remain safe and accessible. Deposits will continue to be federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), just as they are today. Both credit unions are member-owned financial cooperatives, and regular account protections and service standards remain in place.

Will my account number, debit card, credit card, checks or direct deposits change?

Not at this time. Members should continue using their accounts, cards, checks, direct deposits and automatic payments as they do today. If changes are needed in the future, members will receive clear instructions well in advance.

Will Digital Banking or branch access change?

There are no immediate changes to Digital Banking, mobile banking or branch access. Members should continue banking the way they do today. Future updates about systems, locations or service access will be communicated before any changes take effect.

When is the expected merger date?

The expected legal merger date is June 1, 2027, subject to required regulatory approvals, member approval where required and other closing conditions. But again, even at that date, we do not anticipate changes taking place for how you access and utilize your credit union currently.

What approvals are still needed?

The proposed merger remains subject to required regulatory approvals and other required steps, including SCU member vote. We will continue to update members as the process moves forward and more information is available to share.

Will any branches close?

No branches will close as a result of the merger.

How will members receive updates?

Members should rely on official credit union communications, including website updates, emails, branch materials and other approved channels. We will continue to keep members informed as approvals progress and future decisions are finalized.

How can members avoid merger-related scams?

Members should be cautious of anyone asking for passwords, PINs, online banking credentials, one-time passcodes or full account information. The credit union will never ask for that information through an unsolicited call, text or email. If something feels suspicious, members should stop and contact their credit union directly using a verified phone number or website.

Can members still open accounts and apply for loans during the merger process?

Of course. It is business as usual for SCU and CCU. Members can continue opening accounts, applying for loans and using services just as they do today. We are here to help you now, and we will continue to be here as we move forward together.
