250 Acts of Kindness
Our Why
In 2023, Scott Credit Union celebrated 80 years of service to our members and communities. To honor this milestone, we launched 80 Acts of Kindness, a program dedicated to giving back to the people who have supported us for eight decades.
What started as a year-long celebration quickly grew beyond expectations. Thanks to the passion and encouragement of our employees, the program continued into 2024 and 2025, leading us to an incredible achievement of 250 Acts of Kindness completed!
This milestone reflects the heart of who we are at Scott Credit Union. From large-scale volunteer projects to small, meaningful gestures that brightened someone’s day, each act represents our ongoing commitment to community involvement and member service. None of it would have been possible without our dedicated employees, whose compassion and creativity made every effort count.
Although the Acts of Kindness program has officially concluded, our mission remains the same. Scott Credit Union will continue to support our communities, uplift our members, and spread kindness every day.

- Cleaned and maintained the outdoor property of Eden’s Glory, a nonprofit home for victims of trafficking, including trimming grass and planting flowers and vegetables.
- Painted bleachers, dugouts, concession stands, and equipment sheds at the New Athens softball and baseball diamond.
- Cleaned, sanded, and painted furniture at Restore Décor in Collinsville, supporting their charitable mission.
- Donated funds to the City of Wood River Parks and Recreation gymnastics program.
- Purchased and delivered playground supplies to Kreitner Elementary School in Collinsville.
- IT team rebuilt a bridge for a kindergarten class at New Athens Community District #60.
- Volunteered at Almost Home by painting a stairwell.
- Donated school supplies to the Lebanon Elementary School backpack drive.
- Sponsored a youth baseball team in the Edwardsville area.
- Provided meals for teachers at Triad Middle School during parent–teacher conferences.
- Collected and donated children’s books to the Mascoutah Elementary School library.

- Served lunch to the staff at Gordon Bush Alternative Center in East St. Louis.
- Partnered with the St. Louis Cardinals to honor a Challenger Baseball player during the first pitch ceremony.
- Purchased classroom supplies for over 30 local teachers’ wish lists in the St. Louis Metro area and Chicago.
- Supplied a year’s worth of academic materials to five students at Hinchcliffe Elementary in O’Fallon.
- Donated school supplies to a teacher with over 19 years of experience at Lewis and Clark Junior High School.
- Donated school supplies to teachers and students in the Lebanon School District.
- Distributed markers to nearly 4,000 underserved youth at the Urban Expo Back to School & Community Empowerment Festival.
- Promoted financial wellness and provided school supplies at the RedBird Rookies annual health fair.
- Hosted teachers and their families from the Miriam School at a St. Louis Cardinals game.
- Donated to the newly formed East Alton PTA to support local students.
- Purchased school and personal supplies for the Care Closet at Mascoutah Middle School.

- Purchased rechargeable music stand lights for the Joseph Arthur Middle School band.
- Purchased 60 box dinners for the East Alton – Wood River Oilers Football team for an away game.
- Supported the Life Skills Department at Collinsville Unit 10 by donating items to assist with independence, life skills, and creative activities.
- Donated funds to pay off school lunch debt at Lebanon Elementary School.
