Scott Credit Union Hosts Virtual 83rd Annual Membership Meeting
Edwardsville, IL – March 20, 2026 – Scott Credit Union (SCU) held its 83rd Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 19, 2026, bringing together members, leadership, and the Board of Directors to review the accomplishments of 2025 and discuss the credit union’s vision for the future.
Throughout 2025, SCU lived out its mission of Members. Value. Community. by delivering meaningful financial benefits and lasting social impact across the region. “While financials are important,” shared Lawrence Haffner, Chairman of the Board, “we measure our success at Scott Credit Union by the real outcomes we create for our members and our communities.”
As a member-owned financial institution, SCU continued its tradition of sharing success with members by distributing more than $1 million in Bonus Dividends and Loan Interest Rebates in 2025. Over the past 19 years, this initiative has returned more than $17.3 million to members, reaffirming SCU’s commitment to putting people over profits.
The Scott Credit Union Community Foundation also made a significant impact, awarding $150,000 in With You Grants to local schools and educators. Since its launch in 2020, the program has distributed more than $507,000, supporting STEM projects, arts programs, and essential classroom resources. The With You Grants program was also recognized by America’s Credit Unions Awards, winning first place in the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service category.
Beyond financial contributions, SCU employees actively gave back through the 250 Acts of Kindness initiative. What started as a celebration of our 80th anniversary in 2023 blossomed into a long-term mission of service. Over the last three years, our team reached a milestone of 257 total Acts of Kindness, from stocking local food pantries to supporting families through difficult medical journeys. “Whether delivering meals to families facing cancer treatments or providing playground equipment for local schools, our employees actively engaged in service that fosters community well-being,” Haffner added.
In 2025, SCU expanded its offerings with the launch of Trust & Will, offering members a seamless and trusted way to access essential estate planning and peace-of-mind solutions. The credit union was also recognized for its workplace culture, earning the Top Workplace Award from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for the 12th time and being named a Top Workplaces USA Award winner by USA Today for the second consecutive year.

SCU also expanded financial literacy efforts, reaching over thousands of students through partnerships with Banzai and Budgeting Buddies with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2025. This dedication to accessible and engaging literacy was recognized by America’s Credit Unions, which honored our YouTube Financial Education Playlist with the Desjardins Financial Education Award. Together, these initiatives ensure that impactful financial resources are available to our members and the communities we serve.

At the Annual Meeting, the three board members up for reelection—Lawrence Haffner, Jacob Curtis, and Debbie Lane—were reelected to the Board of Directors. At the Organizational Meeting, the following officers were appointed: Lawrence Haffner serving as Chairman, Jacob Curtis as Vice Chairman, Debbie Lane as Secretary, and Frank Padak as Treasurer. LaJuan Miller, Joy Hayward, Jessica Haugen, Christopher Sobrino, and Angela Stewart also continue their service on the Board of Directors.
