Our journey began in 1943 when forward-thinking visionaries from Scott Field, which would later become Scott Air Force Base, came together to establish a local credit union. Their goal was to create an institution where everyday people, like the civil service employees of the Technical School and the Army Air Force Technical Training Command, could save and borrow money. From there, the Scott Field Civilian Employees Credit Union was born, laying the foundation for what would become Scott Credit Union.

From its inception, SCU has been a member-owned financial cooperative. As a not-for-profit institution, we prioritize the best interests of our members above all else. This cooperative structure, combined with our people-helping-people philosophy, sets us apart from traditional banks and allows us to offer better rates, lower fees, and more comprehensive services. It also gives us the freedom to focus on providing personalized solutions that address the unique needs and goals of each member.
