A Message To Our Valued Members – 2/28/25
We want to personally thank you for your patience and understanding as we have worked to overcome technical issues over the past few weeks, and to apologize for the unsatisfactory experiences created by it.
We are writing to provide updates on this matter, and on what we are doing to help make sure that a similar situation doesn’t happen again.
The issues we have been experiencing are not the result of any fault or malfunction within our own systems, and importantly, they are not directly related to our recent conversion to digital banking. Fidelity National Information Services (FIS), which provides our transaction processing system, experienced a power loss and hardware failure that caused a service interruption between January 15 and January 23.
This outage impacted dozens of financial institutions around the country. Unfortunately, the outage occurred at the same time that we were launching our new digital banking platform, which added complexity for you and our staff.
This type of outage is unacceptable, and I can assure you that we are working with FIS to help ensure that they are doing the right things to prevent something like this from happening again.
With that said, we are accountable to you. We are responsible for the partners that we choose to provide the services you need.
We were not able to act as quickly or transparently as we normally would because we did not have the information needed to best serve you. Please know that we remain fully committed to the values we strive to embody every day, including accountability and trust.
We are reviewing actions we can take to help prevent situations like this from happening and help us to respond more effectively if they do. We will keep you updated on our actions moving forward.
We again want to sincerely apologize for any hardship this has caused. Please reach out to our call center or your local branch if you have any further questions about this matter or our other services.
Thank you for choosing Scott Credit Union. We are grateful to have you as a member.
