    Tonja was next introduced to Frank Padak, the President of Scott Credit Union, who had the fifth gift. “Tonja, just a little something to help you out, because we’ve heard about your family, and we want to help as well,” he explained. Through tears, Tonja said, “I don’t think I can take much more.” She took the lid off of the box and found $5,000 inside.

    The credit union’s volunteer board of directors approved a bonus dividend and loan interest rebate in November, giving back approximately $1 million to members. The money was directly deposited recently into Scott Credit Union members’ savings accounts.

    The Scott Credit Union Community Foundation recently awarded $50,000 “With You” education grants to 19 schools in its field of membership to grow STEM programs, provide clothing and personal hygiene products to students in need, improve school security systems and more.
